Karl Muggeridge Purchases

World Supersport motorcycling champion, Karl Muggeridge,
purchases at Reflection on the Sea.

Karl Muggeridge, who last year raced his way to the world supersport motorcycling title, is spending some of the spoils of his success in his home town, the Gold Coast. The Tweed Heads-born Karl has signed up for an apartment in top-shelf beachfront Coolangatta project Reflection on the Sea.
He’s apparently quite revved up at the prospect of having the surf at his front doorstep, at Greenmount beach, when he’s unwinding in the racing off-season. His enthusiasm is shared by his Swiss wife, Isabelle, who also has a passion for surfboards. The couple married on the Gold Coast in April.

Karl, 31, is quite familiar with the nuances of surfing at the southern end, having gained his surf-lifesaving bronze medallion at the Rainbow Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, where Reflection creator Niecon Developments is patron. The Muggeridges call Europe’s pocket-sized Andorra home when the motorcycling season is in full swing.

Karl, who started riding dirt bikes as a 10-year-old at Reedy Creek, has this year graduated to the world superbike championship. He’s running 11th in the tile race, which is being led by fellow Aussie Troy Corser.

“It will be the best McDonald’s  in  the best location in Australia,” says operator John Davis, who expects the restaurant  to draw 15,000 customers a week.

The restaurant will include a McCafe and will have a new type of cooking facility that will allow all burgers to be made fresh as they are prepared, instead of being pre-prepared. McDonald’s has signed a long-term lease with Niecon Developments for 241 square meters of internal space and an 83 square meter alfresco area. The leasing rate has not been disclosed.
