Broadbeach Retail
The retail hub of Broadbeach will be expanded by up to 45 outlets, including a high-quality produce market, as part of a planned upmarket $800 million twin-tower apartment project.
Boutiques, restaurants, cafes and outlets for international brands are to be part of the retail mix at the venture, planned by Niecon Developments.
The ground-level retail area and landscaped grounds will draw on the strengths of shopping areas in places such as Barcelona and Beverley Hills.
The Niecon project is earmarked for a near 1.2-hectare site on the southern side of the Oasis shopping centre. There will be a 50-level tower at the eastern end of the site and a 40-level building at the western end. A total of 7000 square metres of retail space, shops, restaurants, cafes, offices, and home offices will sit below three-level podiums extending from each building.
The podiums will be separated by a new street, running diagonally across the site and linking Charles and Elizabeth avenues. Pedestrian thoroughfares through the retail area are intended to provide a link between park on the western side of Surf Parade and the green belt that fronts the beach.
